East route
Got there during our cycle trip from Tabriz to Ardabil. Took the taxi from Meshkin Shahr to Shabil, together with our bicycles. Stayed there for a night, enjoyed the hot mineral water and went up to the shelter the next day - a guy from Shabil took us there with a jeep. Snowline was near the Shelter at 3700 metres, which was just near freezing level at daytime. Spent a very cold night in the shelter and started climbing at sunrise. There was no need for crampons. At 4700 metres my girlfriend didn't feel it being easy to breathe anymore, so in the snowstorm and waist-deep snow, at noon we decided it's time to go back. On returning, the weather was really deteriorating with snowstorms reaching below 3000 metres. It was really nice to be back in the hot mineral water baths in Shabil. Cycled down the next day - a really grand descent on two wheels.

Climbed in bad weather
It was very bad weather the day we summited. The lake near the top was frozen, but it sure is a very nice place. Due to thunder in the afternoon we had to run down.
