vivian  Sucess!

My puppy's paws got a little tired so we camped about a mile short of the summit. Made it up and back down the next morning, but we didn't traverse the ridge like we had planned.

From Vivian Creek  Sucess!

Great winter hike; IMHO much better than doing in the heat and crowds of summer!

Traverse from Bighorn Mtn  Sucess!

From Bighorn, descended back to The Tarn, then took gully straight up to San G summit, intercepting the trail coming from Mineshaft Saddle and bypassing it. Fabulous steep slope, gains 1000' in half a mile!

Camped at Vivian Creek the night before heading up. A local bear got into my stashed pack at the base, but a beautiful view from the summit!

Fish Creek in a day  Sucess!

Took the scramble route from Mineshaft Saddle up the north-east ridge dragging my twin brother up and down. Sunny and mild but very dry. Way better if done in the snow by the looks of it.

Windy on top  Sucess!

Long day hike from Fish Creek TH to summit but it was a nice day for it, sunny and cool. There is no snow left. It was pretty windy on top (maybe 25mph), air temp about 50 F (colder with wind chill). I used both fleece and shell to keep warm after getting to the summit. Lots of backpackers were competing for sites at Fish Creek Saddle but I didn't see anyone at Mine Shaft Flats.

fish creek  Sucess!

straightforward but long trail. Only saw one person all day. Interesting plane crash site along the trail. The road to the trailhead probably warrants a high clearance vehicle. The summit itself is broad and somewhat unexciting but good views of the north side of San Jacinto. No snow at all. The trail is almost never steep and would be good for a trail run.

From South Fork, up Dry Lake, down Dollar Lake  Sucess!

Big group for big hike, but loved the challenge. Good distance training (24 mi), decent elev. gain and a perfect summer day.
