Great hike
One of the best I've done in southern California. The view at the summit was amazing!

C2C, snow
Another great trip organized by KathyW and SoCal peakbaggers. Snow (on trail) started at 5700', and made the travel tougher. But the scenery was extraordinary; a sea of clouds below, and unusually clear for SoCal.

Cactus to Clouds
Fist time I did Cactus to clouds... started out the route solo at about 4:45AM. Continued the route with another solo hiker who had a similar pace. Finished the hike to the peak in 7 hours with a stop at Wellman's divide. All and all it was a great day and can't wait to take this route again!

C2C, first time
With the Socal Hikers and Peakbaggers. Began at 3:20a at the art museum and made it to Long Valley in 5:47 h. Took a more leisurely pace to the very crowded summit. Felt tired, but surprisingly good after the 12:00 h ordeal. Tram down.

I've climbed this peak 5 times so far. 3 times up devil's slide, once from dear springs and once on a rock climb/bushwhacking adventure up the south side between deersprings and devil's slide. Once climbed in 4 hrs in the middle of the night...in my underwear.

Cactus to Clouds
First time up to the peak was on July 1st, 2011. Took the tram up, camped and hiked up. Then I heard about the crazy hike starting from the valley floor and knew I had to do it. Cactus to Clouds, at it is called, was the most challenging day-hike I've done. Definitely bring lots of water on that trip with you.

Incredible Views
Great views from the top, awesome trail. We took the Marion Mountain Trail from camp. Questionable distances, but worth every step. Actually had the summit to ourselves, too, which I hear is rare... (last tram must have already departed)

Cactus to Clouds
What an EPIC hike! Came up from Palm Springs at 5:00, reached the Tram at 11:30, and the summite at 2:45. Cant wait to do it again!
Snow creek (in winter) is the best route, followed by c2c. Marion mountain is not as dramatic but much lusher than you'd guess. This peak is my fave in socal...

Cactus to Clouds
Started just before 4:00am. Nothing too exciting except for a few rattle snakes. Made it to the Ranger Station at the tram in under 6 hrs. Loaded up on some food and water, and hiked the normal trail to the summit. Getting started again was tough, but once I was moving, felt good. Made the summit, a couple quick pictures and back down to the tram.
One very long, scenic, beautiful day hike. Parked one car at Humber Park, took second car to South Ridge Spring. Followed the South Ridge trail to Tahquitz Peak and the Fire lookout. Beautiful views on this section. From here, hiked up to Saddle Junction, Wellman Divide, than San Jacinto Peak. Wanted to summit Jean Peak and Miller Peak, but running out of water. From San Jacinto summit, descended Deer Springs trail to Pacific Crest trail. Veered back onto Deer Springs trail to about 7,300' elevation. Travelled cross country east to meet up with the trail leading to Suicide Rock. Down climbed some fun Class IV slabs to the climbers trail, then hiked the road back to Humber Park. Very long day. Almost didnt make the drive back to Orange County.

Nice and shady
It was a hot day, so we appreciated the shade on the Marion Mt. trail on the way up. Was not digging the constant swarms of flies in the a.m., however. The hike was sustained, but have seen steeper terrain on Shasta and elsewhere. Lots of crowds at the top, spectacular views of the Coachella and San Jacinto valleys. It was cool to see all the windmills from so high up!

Good hike, should be a lot of flowers in a few weeks. A lot of greenery is ready to bud above 9000ft.
