Peakbaggin' with my man in Anza-Borrego on a BLOWN out wintry day. 35+winds with near freezing temps. Climbing the summit block in boots with ice was "interesting."

Shaken With Rime Ice
Whoa!....windy day on this peak with Deb! However, the rime ice coating the rocks and bushes did make for a cool landscape. Nice view of Rabbit and Villager.

From S-22 Aug. 9th 2008
After getting off the Thimble from the west side I circled around back to the east to the saddle south of San Ysidro I jumped two nice mule deer. One had a real nice rack on him and had some good size.
Hiked up from S22 @ Pena Spring along the ridge. Tagged the Thimble on the way down; didn't see the 30' of class 3 that I heard about, as it was pretty simple. Great desert hike.

Cherry Canyon
Nice hike, since the fire had cleared away most of the brush. Great views from the summit.

Long Day
There had been a fire so it was easy to navigate or so I thought. I went quite a bit farther north then needed and ended up coming back in the dark. But it was a fun hike in a remote area. Didn't see anyone the whole day.

Weather was perfect considering it was May. Very fun climb when The Thimble is added. Couldn't find the summit register on San Ysidro. Still pretty easy bushwhack and got a good wake up from a couple of rattlesnakes - Beware in the flatter, open sections! Definitely want to return to tackle more routes on Thimble.

S-22No snow at all due to the recent dry, warm weather. Last peak of the day after Bonny BM, White BM, and The Thimble. Nice, sweeping views from the top.
