Beaver Brook Jeep Road
Wanted to get above 10000 ft elevation. Looked like a fun warmup hike. The trail is fairly easy to follow even when it gets a little overgrown. Short bushwhack and scramble to the summit block once you leave the road. Decent views NE to the James group and can see Evans and Mestaaehehe through the trees.

Lots of snow, which surprised the heck out of us.

Interesting day!
The pup and I. Then drove to the other side of I-70 to do Bellevue and Pewabic, where we found a lost dog near the summit. After some serious effort and luck we found the owner, dropped the dog off and finished the day with a quick sprint up Bald Mountain.
Climbed up from Beaver Brook, then bushwhacked up the south side of Saddleback from the same trailhead. Morning hike on the way to Denver to go Christmas shopping, this was more fun ;)

Jill, Doug and I broke trail through over a foot of lovely fresh powder from the Beaverbrook Watershed TH. It was a cold, peaceful morning - a great day for a mellow peak like this!
