Came up from the Webster Pass Road (parked just before it crossed the Snake River), climbed Geneva, Landslide, Sullivan and Santa Fe then dropped back to the road. Second time up this peak

santa fe storm
fine solo of santa fe on a crisp november day. the predicted storm rolled in during the last half-hour before reaching the summit cutting visibility to 100 yards.
warning: avalanches are coming! the hoard layer and hard crust are setup perfectly, all it needs is a sizable load to create a slide. this weekend's system might do that trick!

From Morgan Gulch
4/15/07 - Ascended road on north side of Morgan Gulch and then ran ridge from Morgan Peak to Sante Fe to Geneva to Landslide. Somehow lost my ice axe on the way down :(
1/2/19 - Went back for a winter ascent. Started at Peru Creek because there doesn't seem to be any legal parking in Montezuma (bastards!). Took the road on the north side of Morgan Gulch to 11,4000 feet, then climbed up to the ridge and and ran it over Morgon, Sante Fe, Sullivan and Geneva.

Snowy Santa Fe Road
Snow covered the road the whole way up, was able to cut some of the road off by hiking up Morgan gulch (also continuous snow). Made the descent super fast, from summit to treeline in only 45 minutes! Great views from the top, still a lot of snow in the area! Saw a wet slide on a peak across the valley, be careful out there.

Santa Fe Peak
Great day and Great hike. Strong and cold wind above treeline. Having a cold didn't help either.

With Michelle under perfect skies.I can see how some might not relish walking a road, but the setting of this peak once above tree line is pretty amazing. Consider this a job…. Done!

Montezuma's RevengeI've been over the summit several times on my mountain bike while crewing for friends in the 24 Hour mountain bike race, Montezuma's Revenge.
