The Santanoni Peaks get a bad rap (mostly deserved), but this is the best of them. Good views before the summit, muddy, awesome.

first of a triple
Started at 1010 AM and summited by 135 PM via the express trail (which was clearly cairned). After that I hit Couchsachraga and Panther at 335 PM and 525 PM respectively. It poured rain before I could summit Panther. Got back to the car at 850 PM (just after headlamp o'clock).

Great hike up the express trail. I did not find this trail steep relatively speaking.

Great (dry) Day
Great day to hike up here, trails were in great shape and mostly dry! Hiked up Santanoni Express trail, which was a well marked turn-off with a cairn. The trail was unmarked, but easy to follow. Great views from the summit! I then hiked the ridge across and up to Panther Peak and then returned down the trail to Bradley Pond, making a nice loop with less backtracking. Skipped Couchachraga, as I was running out of time for when I wanted to be home. I'll get it another time. 8.5 hours round-trip. Here are my times, just for reference.
Trailhead to Santanoni Summit - 8:10AM to 11:30AM
Santanoni to Panther Summit - 11:45AM to 12:45PM
Panther Summit to Trailhead - 1:22PM to 4:30PM

Santanoni Peak
Summited Santanoni Peak 4607' during a weekend backpacking trip. Our group stayed at the Santanoni Lean-To after the hike in hiking a few miles on Friday, we summited all 3 peaks of the Santanoni Range on Saturday under excellent weather, stayed the night again and turned in on Sunday morning. The heard paths are in good shape, but they are muddy as can be and can be difficult to navigate.

Perfect Conditions
Had a gorgeous day. Blue sky (mostly), no wind, not too cold. Hiked up with my husband. We got Panther and Couch as well. The trail was nicely packed down by people who snow shoed up a few hours before us. Fresh snow on pine trees. Had a beautiful sunset.

Just revisiting the ADK 46 via climber's log. I remember this as the hottest day I've ever been in the high peaks. Complete haze.

New/Old Santanoni Trail
The start of an adventurous day in the Santanoni Range. My sister's first ADK 4Ker. It is nice that the new/old trail comes out right by the summit. Headed out Panther Brook.
The plan was to bag Couch and Sant in one day of our winter trip. We set out to climb Sant... but with no trail, and no obvious route to bushwhack, we turned around (after an hour) and just climbed Couch
Great Peak. We hit this after doing Panther and Couch. Sun was about to go down. Can't beat it.

Santanoni Peak
Climbed with Panther via Duck Hole Trail from Tahawus. A long, steep climb and all the mud didn't make it any easier. The views were excellent as we climbed it on a nearly perfect summer day. The whole Western High Peaks Zone has a remote and isolated feeling to it.

Hiked in a 3 peak string with Couch first, this, then Panther. Tough day. Beautiful views from the top. Lovely sunshine. Neat peak. Best of the 3 in my opinion. #28/46

This range really attracts rain, ridge walk was in drizzle but Lake
Harris ranger said it rained only briefly there
