Traverse
A great ferrata with my wife although there was no view to be had that day. Staying at the hut with their saggy beds was more of an adventure than the mountain! The memory of this trip still brings some laughs.
Solo climb one summer holiday. Easy ferrata up and down. Cloudy on summit , but felt high up! No one else around, ran back down and met my parents for beer in the refugio.
Route Climbed: traverse east - southwest Date Climbed: September 5th 2005
a daytrip from the Groeden/Gardena valley: we started from the top of chairlift at Col Raiser (2107m; 8;35). Morning clouds cleared and we had beautiful views to all sides on the eastern ferrata. Reached summit when clouds occured again (11;45). After the SW descent ferrata we took a break in the first meadows (14;00-15;00) and hiked from the natural park area to the ski run area around Seceda. As Weather improved we hiked back to the St. Christina via Sella Cuca (2150m) and Seurasas (2125m) to the Col Raiser chairlift parking (18;30).
Route Climbed: Eastern ferratta Date Climbed: July, 1986
I have beautiful memories on this ascent. We were sleeping just above Santa Caterina and I wakened with fresh snow and ice in my beard. But the day was wonderful. With cable-car we reached Col Raiser, walked to Waserrinnental and reached Forca Salieres. My both eldest sons were 12 and 9 and I was a bit scared of fresh snow or even ice (we didn't have a rope). But was all OK, we reached the summit among first and when people started to arrive, descended by the same route.
