From the Road
Hiked with Paul. Got an early start with headlamps. Unreal stars at that time of the morning. Even saw a shooting star! Cloudy, misty, windy, but a good hike to the top. Headed to Gothics, Armstrong, & the Wolf Jaws from there! #7.

On the way back from Gothics
I got Sawteeth on the way back from getting Pyramid and Gothics. I then took the scenic trail back which was a mistake. It was too long for me after having did Gothics and Pyramid. I should have just taken the Weld trail back too. Too many ups and downs on the scenic trail.

Typical
Climbed from Lake Road/AMR. Cool day, but sunny at times. As is my experience with Sawteeth, it was clouded over, so no views. Headed to Pyramid/Gothics and the Wolfjaws next.

Good views
West River trail, up Scenic trail. on the way to Pyramid, Gothics, Armstrong & Lower Wolfjaw.
Route Climbed: Lake Road and Weld Trail Date Climbed: 7/24/04
The day started out as cool and foggy, but turned out nice & sunny. LOTS of water and mud, especially at the summit. Lots of water going over Rainbow falls, and the panorama of the range at the summit was spectacular, especially Gothics and Haystack.
Route Climbed: From Gothics Date Climbed: November 1, 2003
Just the last peak for the day and happy to hit and run. Long trip back to the car from here. I think we took "the long way" down. Saw a really tall water falls almost near the base.
Route Climbed: Cascade Trail Date Climbed: Memorial Day 2002
The route we used to the top (Cascade) was signifcantly easier than the Scenic Trail. Like all mountains in the Adirondacks, the trail was very steep and gained elevation very quickly. There was still snow at higher elevations on this late date. The last half mile was hell, but the views were well worth it. Once you reach the summit, there are stunning views of Marcy, Haystack, Gothics etc. You should definitely make time to stop at Rainbow Falls; at 100 or so feet, it is one of the best waterfalls in the Adirondacks.
Route Climbed: Senic trail from the boathouse Date Climbed: 8/4/02
Senic trail is exactly that. No less that 5 overlooks that provide great break spots. Be warned, senic trail is much wilder and rougher than the alternate Weld Trail route. Nice summits views. Also bagged pyramid and Gothics on the same hike. Stunning views throughout.
