The Sawtooth Rocks are the northernmost summits on the Cimmaron Ridge. The are an important point of orientation for climbers on Storm King or Castle Rock. The Sawtooth Rocks also give Castle Rock a characteristic profile from many miles away. Viewed from the northwest angle, they actually look like saw teeth.
This photo was taken at one of the Buckhorn Lakes (right foreground). The trees and hilly terrain seen here are representative of the first two-thirds of the route... pretty, but easy to get disoriented once you are in the trees. (September 2006)
