Scary rock

Scary rock

Another reason why I took my time going up the ridge was the myriad of rock formations I encountered. This one was one where in the dark I might have been spooked as it certainly projected a scary face. 11-02-07

Rock Pillar

That rock reminds me of the Heart of Rocks area in Chiricahua national monument.

Re: Rock Pillar

Now you tell me. Dennis and I just drove by that place on our way to Graham Mtn. I'll save it for a visit in the future.

Unbelievable!

When I saw the thumbnail of this photo, I thought - seriously! - that it was a grizzly bear. And even now, with the picture opened to full size, it almost looks like one! Again, I'm baffled by the whims of nature...

Re: Unbelievable!

Thank you Eric, I thought it was scary looking and wouldn't want to be hiking by it in the dark. Like a big open mouth, waiting for a victim to happen by. Nature is amazing in the state of Utah. This is in the western utah desert, an area I have grown to love.
