Schiehallion 3553ft from the south-east

Schiehallion 3553ft is one of the most famous peaks in the Rannoch and Glen Lyon area. It is a very isolated hill and this makes it easy to find when sitting on top of other peaks, in fact it is easily picked out when as far away as Glencoe (some 40 to 50 kilometres away) in the west.

My first Munro

I climbed this with my dad and brother when I was 14. I think I got quite badly sunburned if I remember properly.

Re: My first Munro

Not many people can claim to have been sunburned in Scotland Dan!!! I still haven't climbed this peak for some reason. Sunburn aside, did you enjoy it?

Re: My first Munro

Maybe, it would be nice to see it under some snow. Not sure what my arrangements are going to be this winter though, Joe, my usual partner, is buggering off to join the army at the beginning of January, so at the moment I've got no one to go with. Maybe an SP Scots Team mini gathering is in order?

Re: My first Munro

Sounds like a good idea. I'm sure the rest will be up for that.

Re: One fine summit:

Cheers David, I think we might organise a wee Scots team trip next year sometime. Me and my mate are hopefully going to Torridon in May, which is open to all. I'll post something on the forum when it's more concrete. How was Belgium?

Re: One fine summit:

Belgium was great. Staying in Oostende but went to Gent and lovely Brugge for day trips.
Sunny weather but cold making think if only I was on the mountains. Now I have seen this Schiehallion shot I want to get there even more.
Cheers - David.
