Sentinel Ridge View of the Mississippi

As one ascends Wyalusing State Park's Sentinel Ridge, the Mississippi river is the star attraction. Only a portion of the width of the great river is visible, as forested islands block the view of its true width. On October 6, 2012, the Mississippi has to compete with the beautiful fall colors on the bluffs that line the Iowa shoreline.
