Standard "Tourist Route"
Took the standard "tourist route" up by myself. Even though this is the easiest route, I still found it to be class 3/4 with some significant exposure on the ridge. A great and rugged mountain overall that packs in everything you would want - trail, talus, scrambling, exposure, and views. Don't let the low elevation fool you. I liken the mountain to what you would get if you shaved off the top 3,000 ft of one of the more technical CO 14ers and placed in on Isle of Skye. Met a nice local (Scott) on the summit and descended with him.

Wonderful solo of Pinnacle Ridge
My wife Penelope and I scrambled up the Pinnacle Ridge in June of 2014. We found the route very nice and totally do-able without rope. We did rap from the Third Pinnacle, then followed the ridge up Knight's Peak to the summit of Sgurr nan Gillean. The trip was sugested to us by the wardens of the Glen Brittle Hut Sandra and Tim Winter, an excellent suggestion. The trip took us 7 1/2 hours CTC.
Been up twice. Great views over the ridge and out to sea over the loch

Second attempt
After traversing the "Pinnacle ridge" in 1986 we failed to reach the top due to poor snow. Returned in 1990 to climb Am Bhastier and SNG with Chris M.

My best peak in Scotland. I think it tells all.

Exciting rappel
Did a couple of ascents whilst doing the ridge in the early 90's.
The rappel (shown) off one of the pinnacles was a spectacular one, landing on a narrow ridge before having to scuttle down a crack to regain the main ridge on the way to the summit.
