Very enjoyable road walk
Perfect time of year to go - blooms and temperatures were quite pleasant. Views were hazy but the dancing cirrus clouds above made up for it. I was pleased to see that the summit area is recovering from 2017's fire - the whole Santa Ana range to the south and Chino Hills to the north were Edenic in their lushness.

2x via Skyline
Second time up, this time via Skyline Drive. The summit burned 9/2017 from the Canyon Fire. One tower was destroyed while others only suffered minor smoke damage. Very clear day.

Via Skyline Trail
Nice warm day, but a fairly early start avoided the afternoon heat (up to 86 F). Plenty of people on the road as far as the first downhill (where most turned around). Just over 4 hours RT.

From Coal Canyon
Used this as a training jog for the upcoming Catalina Marathon. Not as fast as I would like! With Erin (jogging) and Shannon & Wes (power hiking). Hiked San Juan Hill and Gilman Peak.

Coal Canyon
Walked up the road with Kiwi the Dog - her first hike of more than a couple of miles. We saw a small bobcat dart across the road on the way up and a deer on the way down. Nice day with great views of the San Gabriels from the summit.

Route Climbed: Northwest Route Date Climbed: Climbed in March of 2005The entire trip took about 6 hours. I went with one other person. The marine layer was strong on this day so it kept the temperatures nice and chilly.
