Skiing Muztagh Ata, China

Michael took this incredible shot of Aron (down below, on the glacier) and me skiing down from C2 to C1. The only semi-technical sections on the peak are visible in the bottom of the photo: two short climbs out of glacial depressions. The more serious one was about 30' and had a fixed line with knots in it. Depending on the time of day, we found the climbs to be mushy snow that was easy to kick steps into, or hardpack, glacial ice that was a pain in the ass to climb without crampons.
