Skiing to Emerald Lake

Miro, making his last turns down the 800 foot descent from the cornice at the top of the icefield. This was August 2, 1997. The week before Miro had summited Mt Superior and noticed there was still alot of snow on Timp so we made the easy decision to go ski it. While sometimes exhibiting glacier-like behavior, this is technically an icefield and usually does not have snow on it particularly this late into summer; normally, it is rock-covered.
