Spire PeakMust I always?....
The spiky thing is Spire Peak (6,213 ft).
On the horizon are, left to right, Silver Tip, Sloan Peak, and Columbia Peak. So, hey, you got one of them.
So you were on Baring yesterday? Here was Baring yesterday at about 2PM. Perhaps you are in this photo, although very very tiny.
When you said 9 hours to do the climb are you talking one way or roundtrip? I hope the latter.

Re: Spire PeakDude, can't you see me waving at you from the top?
Actually, at 2 pm we were probably at the base of the gully or the boulder basin. Nice day up there, eh?
Wow, never heard of Spire Peak. And it's not on any of my info. So yeah, you "must always!" As always thanks for the confirmation.
It was like 8 hours 45 minutes round trip. That freaking Class 2 up to the ridge was interesting. Class 2 my @$$. Some vertical root climbing. Much more fun on the way down in the dark too. Many a curse word was uttered. The rest of the climb was fun though.

Wow -great pics! Sounds like you guys had most of the fun last weekend while I did another south side trudge up Hood in the dark (made it, though!)
As per Lord Klenke's order, the beard is gone - get ready for some wintery weather!

Re: Wow -New frofile pic shot by my rock climbing bro Carl at Cape Kiwanda at Pacific City last summer. Way cool place - I'm no rock climber as you can see from my pathetic form, but if I was, this place "rocks"! Remind me sometime and I'll show you a video I took in '94 of a 106 foot high "rogue" wave breaking over the cliffs - nearly got me!
Also - removing the beard seems to have worked - the weather is sure showing signs of wetness. All hail Lord Klenke who am the One!
