South East Side of Pico Asilado
The South-East side of Pico Asilado from high on Tijeras Peak. The route descends to the small clump of trees visible at the very bottom of the picture. It then crosses the main valley and heads up the stepped side valley towards the pass between Pk. 13,020 and Pico Asilado. Just before the head of the cirque, the route then turns north, eventually joining the standard southern ridge route.
Another abvious route would be to climb directly up the Eastern slopes of Pico Asilado towards, then just to the right of, the large snowfield directly to the summit.
Crestone Peak and Needle can be seen behind Pico Asilado.
