Finished rather late due to an early detour, fortunately it was a great day (weather wise) for a late summit. The South Peak was a marmotopolis, and the mayor allowed me to take several pictures of him posing on the summit. Then he chewed up the grip on my trekking pole while I wasn't looking. Now I know why people don't like marmots.
Loved the traverse: a really fun class 3 scramble, with various features to negotiate, all on superbly solid rock. The exposure was noticeable but not too much to write home about in my opinion. If you've tasted a little rock scrambling and really want to get your feet wet, I think this is a great spot for it. If you're already knee deep in mountaineering, then you should have plenty of fun with this one.

Skywalkin' the Traverse
With Eric, MikeyB, and Kris. Good company. Climbed Skywalker straight up, traverse to N Arapaho then back to S Arapaho. Good angled snow, probably good for weeks to come. Fun traverse.

Skywalker to South Arapaho
My first snow climb on a spectacular day. Took my time and learned from others as I went. Exited to the right near the top, no less difficult just more rocks to sit and rest. The wind gusts actually helped push me up this climb. Awesome views.

Skywalker and the Traverse
Tim, Mike, Kris and I climbed the Skywalker Couloir in great conditions. There was still a great amount of snow in the couloir, on the ridges and in the basin. It's hard to believe it was mid-July! We traversed the fun Class 3 ridge over to N. Arapaho, then back to S. Arapaho and out. Perfect day.

Skywalker, North Star, Arapaho Traverse (x4)
9/19/04 - A storm came out of nowhere as we headed back to South Arapaho making this an epic day. Inexperienced at the time, we got off route and found ourselves on slick, steep rock. Learned a lot that day!
6/6/10 - Climbed Skywalker (Leia exit) and made the traverse to North Arapaho. The traverse is a nice little romp with some snow.
6/12/11 - Climbed North Star Couloir on North Arapaho and traversed to South Arapaho. Fantastic tour.
6/24/15 - Climbed Skywalker with Kylie. Did the Princess Leia finish which was just barely still in. Traversed out and back to North Arapaho.

South Arapahoe
My first official thirteener (not counting Mauna Kea). I'd been in Boulder for less than a month, so I was feeling the elevation. Otherwise I would have done the traverse. One day I hope to get back up and do it.

South/North Traverse
A mellow outing from the 4th of July TH. The ridge scramble was great fun, a light dusting of snow in the shadows up high, not enough to cause any problem though.

summited both arapahoes and old baldy with jamie. we had a wonderful adventure into the indian peaks wilderness. it's a great outing without having to travel a long way from the front range. we can't wait to unearth more gems in this area this fall!
I lost a camera on the 4th of July trail Sunday, July 22. If anyone found a Canon Digital Rebel, please, please email kandyce.kingsley@gmail.com ASAP! Thanks a million.
Apart from that HUGE, sad disappointment, the trail was gorgeous!
Climber via Skywalker, which felt pretty damn steep at the top through the Princess Leia finish.

Steepest couloir climb I have ever done. Wish I had a 2nd tool on this one as snow was too firm in most spots. Traversed over to South and added Old Baldy. Awesome day.

Nice diversion
Got up S Arapahoe on the way over to Caribou Lake, which is one of the most beautiful places to camp in Indian Peaks.
nice traverse - started at 5 am from camp site, was the only one on the ridge - but way too many people on the trail later in the day for my taste

South Arapaho. Winter solo. Long approach on foot up 4th of July road. Awesome bivy under the stars near the campground. Had trouble locating the peak due to high winds and blowing snow. No cajones for the traverse to N. Arap. in the wind.
