"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Tagging South ArapahoEnchanted by this peak from my perch in Boulder, I had to climb it. Windy conditions on the summit and poor equipment (we all have to start somewhere right?) forced me to descend before getting North Arapaho.

The ArapahosI had been up the 4th of July trail a number of times before it hit me that I should climb S Arapaho. I attempted the traverse on 14Jun, but didn't get too far due to snow (I didn't have snow gear). I remember meeting myrone on that day. Got over to N Arapaho a month later. I remember meeting GeorgeJames on that day; he got a picture of me having a lot of fun on the traverse. The traverse was one of my first class 3s.

First Class 3Did the traverse + Old Baldy. My first Class 3 peak--very fun and not as difficult as I thought it would be. Hardest part of the day was route-finding the final stretch of the out leg: took an hour+ to get out and only 30 mins to get back.

SkywalkerCool route to the summit. It's nice that the route tops out so close to the summit.

Via SkywalkerBrutal wind and snow at the summit (gotta love JUNE Climbing in Colorado) took longer than we would have liked due to our large group but most of the party summited S. Arapaho

Skywalker Traversecombined an ascent of Skywalker with the traverse over to N Arapahoe. Look forward to repeating this climb annually.

Quick Day on the TraverseOnly a 5 hour day, but a great time on the traverse. The crux really wasn't bad at all.

Traverse DoneCame back for revenge after the snow and ice shut me down. Got both peaks today and a really beautiful view from the tops. Fun stuff. 4:20 roundtrip from 4th of July.

Just South (solo traverse attempt)Tons of snow and ice on the route. Made it to SA from 4th of July quickly and started across the traverse. An hour later I got shut down by the third crux as it was just too icy and snow covered to get across safely. Will be back to get revenge soon.

great traverseThis was a fun ridge climb. It posed just enough challenge to be fun ... like its airy "catwalk" to get the blood pumping ... some minor routefinding challenges ... and a bit of good class 3 slab/crack scrambling. Views were stellar.
Thanks to tombaldwin's post on a thread, we knew this would be snow-free, so we didn't need to bring any unnecessary gear (thanks, Tom!).
