"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Fun summit blockClimbed solo from the pass. A very fun summit block made it well worth the effort. Traversed over to Dragon.

In the WinterMiguel Carmona and I skied up Mt. Gould in March of 1982. The next day we skied/scrambled up University Peak.

Alpine fixA scenic treat while visiting from the mountain-less east coast. Thunderclouds forming persuaded me not to head north to Dragon. Tagged the top of the summit "thumb", never saw a register. Nearly 1,000' of scree skiing down to the Kearsarge Pass trail was fast and fun.

Very casualEasy slog from the trail. The next section, the traverse to Dragon, was better.

S RidgeBackpacking with 3 others. Side trip to solo. Hiked to the 3 false summits before reaching the correct one. Signed the register, but did not climb on the summit block.

South RidgeVery windy conditions with clouds moving in. Besides the class 3/4 climbing up to summit block, this solo trip was a slog. Beautiful view toward Rae Lakes from Kearsarge Pass, worth the trip in itself.
