South Twin - West Ridge

The upper West Ridge of South Twin Sister on July 15, 2006. We found it harder than the Class 2/3 Beckey describes in his guide. Maybe we didn't find the easiest way. After a while the ridge just got monotonous so we got off of it by downclimbing the chossy face to the steep snow in the upper basin. Crampons a must!

Don't Trust Beckey

On Del Campo I learned to take Beckey's rating and add 1. Great photograph of the route! There's definitely some class 4 to be had.

Redwic and I were out there this weekend and I came within 300 vertical feet of the summit. I noticed a few rappel slings left behind at key points, although we didn't bring any ropes. One member of our group refused to start the day before 8AM so we made the turn around call at 5PM. Our route.
