Enough Snow for Skis!
Perfect Weather, blue sky and no wind! I was able to ski the first three miles up to the drainage. Then I ditched the skis and walked up the rest of the way through about a foot of powder.
Looped Spearhead, Kataka, Logan and PT 10780 from the Threemile trail. Incredibly dry for this time of year, didn't even need gaitors as any snow I came across was usually only boot sole deep, and far between. Chilly and windy, so at least something felt "November Like" about this hike!

Via Threemile Creek to NE Slope
Broke in the new year with a nice combo of Spearhead and Kataka. Ascended NE slope to the summit of Spearhead. Great winter hike.

From Threemile Creek TH
I started bushwhacking up the slopes earlier than what is described in the route description. The slopes might have been steeper but it was open going. I don't know what got into me that day, but I decided I needed more and so I headed back down and then up to Tahana Mountain which I am sure is rarely climbed because of its dimunitive prominence.

Via Threemile Creek to Northeast Slopes
What a lovely day stomping through the powder. The Threemile Creek to Northeast Slopes route provides lovely rock outcroppings along the way. Partners: Phil's CMC group.
