Interesting Trip
A lot of neat things went on this, including getting locked in. We did this one before climbing Rainier so we sadly could not do Mount Maude... yet.

close call
Had a close call, one companion had an almost-asthma attack at the gap, we almost had to carry him back to larch Knob.
But a beautiful area!

Nice Highpoint View
Went on an overnight trip with Joanna and Josh. There was a lot more snow than usual and the creek crossings were tremendous. I liked the fact that you were always surrounded by peaks; walled in, so to speak. Josh and I did an easy class 2-3 scramble up a rocky point to the East once at the top of the gap. It really is a beautiful place. I HAVE TO GO BACK THERE SOMETIME; THERE IS SO MUCH TO EXPLORE!

Great place to camp
Spider Gap is a special place. So close to so many great summits. This is can't miss place. Even if you end up summitless, just being in the gap is beyond worth it.

Hiked all the way from Trinity
in 1986, when I was working at Lake Wenatchee. There was a real
good snowpack that summer in the Gap. The peaks to the north
looked real close, but they fooled me and I had to turn back.
