Sounds like

you're relieved it's over! I remember
having to crawl through some of that
**** back in the 1980s, when I was a
forestry student in western Washington.
Don't you just love Devil's Club? :)

Very much so! This thing's been at the back of my mind for 3+ years. It was not an experience I'd ever like to relive (though the post-climb glow sure was fun, not to mention getting to meet some of PNW's climbing legends :).

PS & the hike up sucked too :) ....not only the bushwhack & the loose talus, but the fear I felt every time we were going there.
