Routes to Inversnade

We are planning to do the West Highland way in June and as a diversion "Rest day" wanted to do climb Ben Lommond from Rowardennan and descend to Inverslade. There are apparently steep corries to the north and north east of the summit. Do you know if there is a route to the north west of the summit down to Inversnade? Any comments or advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance

Re: Routes to Inversnade

Hi, I believe there is a route north-west from the summit of Ben Lomond that leads back down onto the West Highland Way and towards the Inversnaid Hotel. Can't find anything on my maps but, I did read a book called the 'The Highland Highway: A high level walking route from Loch Lomond to Fort William' by Heather Connon and Paul Roper that I'm sure details this. If this doesn't then a book called The Munros and Tops: A Record-setting Walk in the Scottish Highlands by Chris Townnsend details his climb of Ben Lomond starting and finishing at the Inversnaid Hotel. Hope this helps and if I find any other info I will pass it on.

Stephen

Hi again, found this page that might be of use to you. Route. The guy that wrote the page descended towards Inversnaid.
