It was as if this Nelson bighorn sheep stopped to pose for us as we traversed the Ontario Peak trail near Bighorn Peak. What a thrill! Angeles National Forest. 5/30/2009.

It was awesome spotting this guy. We followed two of them for about a half mile until they disappeared down a very steep ridge. Thanks for your comment. CJ

Terrific shot!

At the 7900 ft. level on Mt. Waterman one morning, I came around a bend and nearly tripped on a bighorn! Two of them were just lying on the trail. When they realized I was that close, they got up and sauntered away--no hurry. That, obviously, was the closest I ever got to a bighorn--and, of course, my camera was not ready... bummer!
