"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Stimson and FraileyWe hiked up Stimson even though the gate was unlocked, after which we drove up Frailey. Apparently the gate is unlocked on weekdays until 3:30pm.

Clearcut Snow BlanketDuane and I found snow above 1500 ft with 3 to 4 feet on the summit. Noisy dogs at a house part way up the road. They didn't come too close to us though.

A Great Snowshoe Trip! With questionable snow conditions at higher elevations, we decided on Stimson Hill. Sure, it has low elevation and is a road walk/snowshoe, but it is still one of Washington's Top 200 most prominent peaks. We followed it up by also ascending neighboring Mount Washington, just across the county line.

Nice spring hikeThis is a nice little summit with decent views. Had lots of post-holing. Also did adjacent Mt. Washington.

Great ViewsThis is a great hike if your looking for something that is straight forward with good elevation gain. The sunset was amazing the evening I was on the Summit.
