Fogged In
Blue blazed trail off the AT and up to the summit. Wished for a view, but saw nothing but swirling clouds. 4000 footer

Great intro to Shenandoah
Stopped off to do this one before setting up camp for the weekend at Big Meadows, and this was the perfect way to get acquainted with what the park had in store. Not a particularly long hike, but a fun one with a few really nice views on the way up and a great payoff at the summit.

Family Hike
Family hike up to the summit with parents, wife, and 2 little girls. Beautiful views at the top that made you feel like you climbed something epic—although it’s a very short hike from the TH.
Another nice morning walk to beat the crowds. Nice views along the Passamaquoddy trail as well.

Perfect Saturday morning hike with my son
Set off about 9:30 am from the Little Stony Man parking lot with my son luke, who will turn nine later this month. Easy trail to follow with some moderate elevation but nothing heavy. Weather was cool and overcast, perfect for hiking. Awesome views at the top and a few overlooks. Worth the daytrip.

Stony Man
Fun little hike, but very crowded on a late Spring weekend.

October beauty!
Easy peasy, 50 other people on the trail same day. Great for beginners or anyone who enjoys a good hike!

Stony Man Halloween Bear
Quick hike up to Stony Man on a lovely Halloween afternoon. Watched a black bear trot across the trail ahead of us on our way back down to the parking lot.
Great views on this easy hike from the visitors center.

With a guided tour
Possibly my slowest hike ever but it was a guided tour on Shenandoah Park's Wildflower Weekend and the guide (Cathy Mayes) made it one of the most interesting hikes I have ever been on.

It was my only full day in Shenandoah. After hiking the extent of Whiteoak Canyon, most of it in the rain, and then cooking up a late lunch, I wanted to make the most of the remains of my soggy day.
This was one great way to do it! The views were mostly impeded, but that which revealed itself was spectacular. Zero people on the trail -- due to the falling rain, most visitors were viewing the park from the dry interior of their cars.
Of course, just as soon as I got back into the rental, the sun revealed itself, almost blinding me. I had a laugh at the timing and enjoyed the panaromas the setting sun revealed on the way out.
