A bit confusing

The 285-acre forest was acquired through the King County Transfer of Development Rights Program in 2001 and is categorized as a working resource land in the King County land portfolio. This means the private forest can never be developed (like home sights) and some "limited" public recreation must be allowed but the land is still owned by the landowner. It is not public land. But, public use was basically in the agreement when the development rights were purchased by King County. A pretty sweet deal for everyone.
