"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

East Ridge Up / West Ridge DownAfter several visits to Albion Basin and Cecret Lake with my family, this time I finally went to the top of Devil's Castle and Sugarloaf Peak with David. The views were nice, and there were bright wildflowers of every color all around.

MehMeh to look at and meh to hike it, but grab it while doing Devil's Castle, and the summit view towards Timp is fine. There were golden flowers growing among the summit stones when I went.

Cecret LakeNice jaunt through the wilderness. It is a pretty easy climb; especially for a 11K ft mountain. Beautiful views of Alpine Ridge and Timp as well.

Easy Climb, Beautiful Sunset!Climbed the peak yesterday to see the sunset. This is a beautiful valley overlook and a fun day hike past Cecret Lake. Took us about 3 hours round trip.

My first peak.It was fun, the lake looked cool. I saw squirrels. I went with my dad's friend Lance and my dad. The rocks are big up there.

Solitude from Cecret LakeWent up an hour before sunset. Ran as far as I could up and made it up in about 35 minutes. Didn't see a soul after Cecret lake. I was really impressed with the views from the sunset and enjoyed solitude on top...realized the sun was getting low so made a scramble for Baldy and made it over to the summit of Mt. Baldy in under 25 minutes. After chilling in solitude on the summit for 15 minutes or so, I got cold so I bombed all the way back to my car at the Cecret lake trailhead in 20 minutes. Awesome trip...definitely worth doing again as I was really impressed by the views of Timp, Hidden Peak, Pfeifferhorn, Lone, and the Cottonwood Ridge.

Sorta LameHiked up from Cecret Lake TH. Too many people. Too much development. It kind ruined the experience for me. I also did Baldy which was also kinda lame. the good thing was I had the actual summit to myself while I was there. I did see others on it before and after I was there though. The views were good and so was the exercise but the overall experience was kinda blah.

Re: Sorta LameI agree. It's hikes like these that make me glad to on the serious climbs. Doing Lone Peak solo tomorrow morning at about 1030 am if you are in?

Couple of times7/29/2010 - Hit this up with ryan for a quick afternoon hike. We were going to snag Devils Castle as well, but then a storm blew our way and it began hailing. Rather painful descent - shoulda brought a jacket.
8/26/2011 - Last summit of solo Bullion Divide traverse. Ran out of water and energy climbing up the west ridge. Stumbled down into Albion Basin and hitchhiked back to White Pine. Fun day.
