Sunset from Campo Uno on Huascarán

The sun is setting behind the Cordillera Negra, the smaller sister of the Cordillera Blanca. No glaciers on the Cordillera Negra, but still there are a few peaks over 5000m. As glacier camps go, Campo Uno on Huascaran is not a bad place. It's really big, so you don't have to camp exactly where other climbers have camped before. Easy to find a clean spot. Sure, it gets cold at night, but what do you expect at 5300m? And the views are outstanding! 9 July 2011.
