Pinyon Wash
Lucky Friday the 13th. All cross country, steep and loose. The boulder sections were a relief. Awesome views into Borrego Valley. Glad I got down without a fall. Did Perpendicular Bluff as a bonus on the way home.

70 Peaks In 30 Days
Part of a month long solo peakbagging trip. I hiked Sombrero in the morning and Sunset in the afternoon. Sunset was a lot more rugged than I expected. I had no problem getting to the start of the Pinyon Wash route in a Subaru.
For photos and brief route descriptions see the trip report.

Pinyon Wash
Lots of sharp stuff to poke you. Not my favorite climb but pretty cool views from the top.

Pinyon Wash
Steep, interesting, bouldery climb. Fantastic views in all directions. In case you were wondering about Pinyon Wash, I drove past the Nolina Wash intersection to the base of the mountain in a Civic. Climbed Perpendicular Bluff BM afterwards.

Pinyon wash
Part of another Anza weekend peakfest. Monotonous compared to some other peaks in the area, but rewarding, and the views are stellar. Had no problem driving to the base of the mountain with a 2WD truck (high clearance not needed), a few short sandy spots where you want to keep your speed up though...

Lots of Sheep on Sunset
Camped out in the back of my rig at the bottom of the hill. At first light I was up & had boots on the ground heading up this little hill. As I was making my way up a ridge line there was a group of sheep keeping an eye on me.

Pinyon Wash
Had a great day scrambling, although various loose (and flaky) boulders made for a few close calls.
