I once followed the road up with my Dad when I was much younger, then the last time I rode a bike up the road to a great viewpoint. Lots of memories down in the valley below, I grew up in Upland

Cool ridge
Hiked this as an alternative to Mt. Baldy because of weather. Great ridge!
Took the firebreak from Cow Canyon Saddle after climbing Lookout Mountain #2.

From my own backyard
Looking for a challenge close to home in my early hiking days, I took off from my house, walked up Claraboya (Mountain Avenue), took Johnson's Pasture to the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park, then took a small very steep fire break that leads directly up to the dirt road leading eventually to a gated community in Glendora. I followed this a long way up (5 miles about) until reaching the summit. Wonderful view.
I later came back and did the steeper, narrowere way from Cow Canyon Saddle.
Does anyone realize this little-known peak is actually about 100 feet taller than the venerated Mt. Wilson?

Cloud Hike
This was our alternative to hiking Bighorn. A nice hike, but no views whatsoever. We made up for it with the descent down the west ridge back to the car. We will be back to capture the views of the surrounding peaks on top of Sunset.

Great Dog Hike
Took the fire road up with the dog in tow. A few long patches of semi-soft snow, but otherwise road was clear. Summitted in clouds, absolutely no views. Sun made an appearance, though. Great trip!
