We went over Redcloud and climbed to Sunshine. It was a pretty easy ridge, but definitely a tiring hike back over Redcloud and down.

Sunshine Via Redcloud
Lots of Snow. Met some buddies up there and climbed Sunshine and Redcloud in one day. Very Long Day. #3 and #4 14er Climbed.

Great day in the mountains. Descended the northwest slope. I don't recommend this unless you love 2000 ft of loose talus, but it saves you from re-climbing Redcloud. The talus was hell on my dog's paws.
Did the combo and descended the scree slope from the saddle....definitely steep and loose. A great day none the less!

Redcloud-Sunshine Duo
Did the traverse on over from Redcloud, and enjoyed great weather throughout. A warning, however: Sunshine looks a lot closer to Redcloud than it really is... This one was my 20th 14er.

I shot over from Redcloud, took a little longer than I thought, but the ridge was a nice little jaunt over to Sunshine. I would really like to make one big loop going the standard way then from Sunshine go down and over "Sundog" and then drop down from there onto the main trail or vice versa.

Standard loop. Climbed Sunshine first via the saddle between it and Redcloud. Some loos crap up to the saddle but almost all the mountains I've done this summer have been on rotten slopes so getting sort of used to stuff moving under my feet.

Decided to go a different route since I had already done Redcloud prior. Not sure of the route name but it was the first time I got a little nervous on a descent. Great adventure!

Redcloud Peak, Sunshine PeakFirst trip to the San Juans. 5.5 hour round trip. Extremely windy on the ridge and weather was unstable from start of hike.
