"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Breezy and cold!An early winter climb, couple of snowdrifts are already hip deep but generally not too bad. Fun day, very windy at the top!

I keep going backI have summited this peak 4 times and for good reason. Easy going hike, easy route finding. Fantastic views. I have been hit with some extreme hail in the middle of the summer here, always pack your layers no matter what time of year!

Loop with Peterson LakeI left the trail at about 7,400' and made my way up to the ridge. The ridge was intermittently snowy, with occasional sections of comically bad post holing. Hiked about a half mile farther west on the ridge after the summit and dropped down just west of Peterson Lake from there. Nice loop, though getting down to the trail was a bit of a grind.

Overnight tripCamped a couple miles from the lake, bushwhacked to shoulder and climbed to summit. A lot of spots required snowshoes. Gotta love the Bitterroot:)

First TimeFun and rewarding! The trail was easy to find on the way up, but I lost it on the way down. If that happens to you just follow the ridge until it starts to rise again then head to your right (down) and you will run into it or find the campsite at the stream.

East RidgeTook a friend on her first summit and my first summit in Montana. Not too windy at the top and fresh huckleberries along the way. Couldn't have asked for a better day out.

First winter "climb"This was my first ever ascent of a peak in winter, and although a white-out on top, what an enjoyable experience!
