Tamassee Knob Trail and Ticks
Ticks covered the trail and our legs by the time we were finished. The views were decent and hiking is always worth the work, but I would have to say this hike was my least favorite so far. There are far more better views out there without ticks covering everything and a more defined trail
Route Climbed: Tamassee Knob Trail. Date Climbed: 10-21-2005
Since Tamassee Knob is located at the edge of a broad plateau, the trailhead begins at about the same elevation as the summit. But one drops time and again into gaps along the way so that there are a number of steep climbs before you gain the final summit. The hike ended up beging a lot longer and a bit tougher than I had supposed.
