And then bak around Julian and back to Milner Pass. The last bump to complete the cirque. Not much of a summit, just a few rocks tha are higher than the tundra surrounding it. Regardless, it's an easy tundra walk from Julian and not to be missed if you're in that area.

Worth the extra effort
Did the cirque from Ida to Terra Tomah. Windy, but beautiful September day. I would do this again just for the solitude.
I had to talk myself into continuing over to this one. A day later I'm glad I did ;-)

Climbed this beast direct from Doughnut Lake up a chossy gully system when I was about 15, then continued over to Ida. The lighting on the wet class 3 Julian-Craktop ridge was spicy, and not recomended. Cheley Camps calls this traverse the "Circle Peaks", and it is a coveted hike for those motivated youngsters.
A truly heady tour of seldom visted terrian.

From Milner Pass via Ida, Chief Cheley, Cracktop and Julian.
Total ascents = 2. After getting out to the summit of Terra Tomah we went back over Julian & Cracktop to the divide, then continued to Bear Lake via Sprague and Flattop.

A long day to say the least. This is one of those days when you can't wait for it to be over but looking back you wish you could do it again. ERRR... maybe a few slight changes in the route next time. I will go back down into that Forest Canyon, it don't scare me. Hayden Gorge looks like a nice and rugged place.

A spectacular mountain with great company. In spite of the pain this mountain will likely be one of my more treasured memories. I would think Terrah Tomah is the most exclusive mountain in one of the most exclusive regions of RMNP.
