at the Eastern border of Como town a grassy spur grows up to get the ridge of Monte Boletto - Monte Bolettone - Palanzone.
Just at the W limit of the ridge, in 1927, a big lighthouse was built up - it should be (and was) used to give safe references to hydroplanes water landing in front of Como.
From its summit (906m) in the windy days, one can see, on the S horizon, the Appennines : that's why Brunate (the town where I was born) is known as "the balcony of the Alps"
