The first Tour de France stage

A memorial of the first arrival to the summit of a Tour de France stage. The final standings of the day are on top. Under them, for those not able to read french (or dutch!) it says: "It was a heroic sport fight between cycling champions. Jan Nolten, already in sight of victory, was defeated by Fausto Coppi here, at this spot, after a legendary duel" The plaque is signed by the "Friends of Jan Nolten" Committee
