Did this several times in the late summer or early Fall as part of our Foliage routine - bike the Franconia Bike Trail and hike the Basin and the Flume. Never been here in the winter, but I'm sure it's coming... :)

First time ice climbing!
First time Ice climbing. I had a blast. Found some good ice and top-roped about 60 feet. I only made it about 45 feet.

finally back on ice
Missed all last season for various reasons, needed a nearby, short climb to try out new tools, new crampons, etc. Hardest previous lead was WI3, so set up a toprope, spent the day building confidence on successively thinner lines at the margins of the flow.

TraditionThe Flume Gorge has been a tradition for my family for years. I have yet to ice climb there, but it is definitely something I hope to do next year!
