Pitch 1 of the 5 pitch climb on the massive slab we called the Kong. I'm stretching to retrieve a sling in the center right of the photo and Mike's head is just visible above me. The route follows the beautiful crack at the left edge of the slab into the dihedral and ends at the top of the buttress at the base of the prominant "H" crack. We didn't have tube chocks or bolts so we never finished the last pitch on this complex mass of rock. The first pitch on this route goes around 5.11 if done free and the rest of the pitches are quite sustained. South Fork of the Payette River - Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho.
