The notch

The notch "Untere Pfandlscharte"

Looking to the notch "Untere Pfandlscharte" (2.663 m). To the left rises "Schartenkopf" (2.861 m) above a nameless glacier lake, to the right you can see the lower part of the Spielmann west-north-west ridge. October 2006 by Herbert

Re: Funny picture...

Thanks for your vote & comment. And yes, it feels like standing in a natural theatre. Looking down to the surprisingly big glacier lake and up to the imposing mountains. All the actors are really great... ;)

After a lot of thought

When I saw this photo I felt like I had been there, but it was impossible. That green lake and the color of the peak...
Where had I seen it before?
Finally I got it.
A photo from Bonete Grande had gotten me thinking about this image.
Not that much similarity, but...well, just wanted to tell the story :-)

Re: After a lot of thought

There are similarities in both pictures! It seems, that there are often similarities to find in the andes and the alps. I had the same "experience" two years ago, when I went to "Hoher Sonnblick", a 3.000 m peak in the austrian alps. During the approach I saw Lake Zirmsee and immediately I had the feeling: "I've seen this before!". And after a while of thinking I knew what it was: Laguna del Inca in Portillo (Chile) with "Tres Hermanos" in the background (I've been there in 1995). Strange... The similarity is as well not THAT obvious, but the feeling was the same (maybe because of the colors and shapes).

...and by the way: seeing your bonete photo reminded me on a 2nd thing: I need to go to south-america somewhen in 2007... :-)
