The Summit Mound

The summit of Smith Peak is formed by a large mound of granite talus. This is the north/northwest aspect, which is the easiest to ascend with just rock hopping to reach the top. The south side is similar, but steeper. Other aspects are formed by large cliffs. October 2010.
