Mr. WIn 1951 I manned the lookout on Benchmark Mtn.
The bare spot you see in th photo was where a small building (some 12-14' square ) sat. The bronze benchmark was in place at the time. It was located just outside the upper right hand corner of the bare spot. The building had a small cupola in which an Osborne fire finder was located.
