This is 49 degrees N...

This is 49 degrees N latitude. Somebody periodically clears a swath to separate Canadian trees from US trees. The route follows the border when convenient, but wanders off it more than you'd expect.

Oh perish the thought...

...that Canadian and U.S. trees come together without appropriate governmental approval! We'd never be able to sort out what belongs to whom. Wars have been fought over less....
