In the summer of 2001 I climbed to norton peak with 2 friends after some camping we did in the area. It wasn't a very difficult climb but it was definitely off the beaten path and a few spots were very precarious.

Once we got to the summit we found a plastic water bottle under the wooden tower in this picture. Inside the bottle were papers with names and dates of people who had visited the summit and some included a brief recount of their journey. I don't know if it was real but some of the dates went back many decades.

All in all this is definitely worth the minor detour to climb to the peak if you're in the area.
