#1 04-08-22 W/Lana. If Kepros doesn't do you in, take the obvious uphill trail at the intersection 10 minutes above the TH and gain about 275' in a few minutes and visit this 3-summit mountain. On the northernmost peak there is a very large cairn; the other two peaks are within probably 5-8 minutes' walk.

Valley View
Great day with my daughter Anne, her guy Bruce, my old bud Gord and two feisty dogs, The wild flowers were peaking and we didn't see another person on the hike.

Fun goofy little mountain
Passed a Boise River WMA sign and trail gate along Blacks Creek Road earlier in the year and had to investigate where it went! Turned out to be a fun old two-track route up Three Point longer than the standard Kepros route (2.6 miles to the first [middle] point). Made it a nice loop running the singletrack part of Kepros until I intersected with the two-track and headed southwest on it rather than the opposite way toward Kepros. The 400' climb at the end to complete the loop sucked, but overall a fun and quiet route! Now I wave to all three points every time I'm driving east of Boise :)

Short and Sweet
I was short on time and wanted to have a winter hike that wouldn't turn into an epic... This fits the bill! Sweet views from the top!

Windy and snowy
Looking for a quick after-work hike and I found it here. Just below the ridgeline, I started off-trail and found some knee high snowdrifts (which was nice to clean the dust off the hiking boots). Animal count was 7 mule deer during the climb and at the summit. I was going to hit all three peaks, but the snow started coming down, so I headed back to the car. This was a great place to get out in the middle of the winter.

Good on a summer morning
Led a group of some 15 IdahoOutdoors yahoo group members and 6 dogs, having advertised "Three Peaks Before Noon!" The result was a happy crowd feeling a sense of accomplishment and half a day left for other things.

East side
Added some trail cruising to the north to add to the short ascent. Kepros was a bit too far away with start times for the state track meet staring at me.
Critter count: 2 lizards.

Nice Day
Didn't have a lot of time today so I decided on Three Point. The whole trip from Boise and back took about 2 1/2 hours. The snow was firm and the views were good. Saw an Ermine and 2 deer as well. It also looked like I was the first one to climb it this year according to the summit register. I didn't see any evidence of anyone else having climbed it recently either.
Nice short steep hike. Very windy today, was going to head to Kepros but bagged that idea early on. Nice to have something like this close to Boise.

Took the wife and both kids (4 and 9) up and everyone did very well. Beautiful arrow-leaved balsamroot and lupine covering the hillside!

My first time ...
on this peak was with my sister. She was in for X-mas and hates to stay indoors for more that two days. So I thought a jaunt out to the Danskins would be just the ticket. We had a storm move in on us just as we rounded the last curve to the trailhead. The fog was so damn thick that I'm still not entirely sure we made all the summits! The snow made it feel more remote than it actually is.
