Thunderstorm over East Spanish Peak (Wohatoya)

A quickly conjured thunderstorm chased me down East Spanish Peak's west ridge. First thunder I heard was at 10:46am. The Spanish Peaks have a reputation for creating their own weather systems, and this storm that came out of clear blue skies bolsters that reputation. May 28, 2007. Jon Bradford

That's Early!

We were glad the storms held off until after noon on our climb. I was well down into the trees before I heard thunder. How was it hiking on the snow (if you did)? Was it more stable? very evocative photo.

Thanks for the comment. I am glad you liked the mountain. Hiking on the snow was goood above timberline. In the trees the giant snowbanks were scenic but exhausting.
